SEEING BEAUTY

Seeing is probably the most difficult thing though it seems to be the most natural and easiest. The eyes move the most, they’re the most active parts of the body. Out of 12 pairs of nerves, 4 pairs have been allocated for eyes. Still our natural vision is not perfect. This can be easily understood from examples of many optical illusions and also from the use of various optical devices for observation of tiny organism as well as distant stars. Therefore, we cannot entirely rely on the eyes for truth. Knowing this is the first step in learning to see. There is no seeing before this.Seeing is the most difficult thing to accomplish with the eyes open. It becomes a bit easier with closed eyes. But seeing is a knack. For the first time, when one tries to see with one’s eyes closed, everything looks dark and one easily goes to take the task as ridiculous. But with courage against the discouraging political mind, as one persists, there comes a moment when the darkness becomes progressively thinner and light eventually displaces darkness. It happens; and one wonders where this light comes from. Many things not experienced before happen and seeing starts not as clear as one wants but rather dimly in the beginning and with time the pictures seen appear more and more defined until they become sharp. Once seeing has become possible with closed eyes, one tries to do it with open eyes. It doesn’t come as easily as it comes with closed eyes. But it comes in the same manner. Now one can actually see with eyes closed and with eyes open and also without closing and opening the eyes. There’s no link with the eyes. Some other eye has become active. For the first time one knows that one is not blind any longer and only from then onwards, one becomes able to see beauty. All the people except the lucky few live and die without ever seeing beauty.
PS: Eyes are extrovert, even when they are closed, they keep seeing externally. It takes time to train them to see inwards.
